Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Kaiq Electronics ("we") handles personal data when you visit this website or use the Memory Loop Slicer plugin ("the Software"). We keep it short and specific, because the honest answer is that we collect very little.

1. The short version

• The Software does not track your usage, your projects, or your audio.
• Your audio never leaves your computer. Nothing you record, freeze, or export is uploaded anywhere.
• The Software sends only what is needed to verify your license (listed in section 2), a routine check for new versions, and reports you choose to send. It never sends your audio or projects.
• We do not sell or rent personal data to anyone, ever.

2. Data the plugin sends

To activate and keep your license valid, the Software contacts our licensing provider and transmits:

• Your license key.
• An activation identifier generated for that installation, used to count how many of your 2 permitted devices are in use.
• The name of your computer, as set in your operating system, used as a label so you can recognize the device.
• For free trials only: a one-way code (a hash) derived from your computer's hardware identifier, used to allow one trial per computer. The original identifier cannot be recovered from it.
• Your IP address, which is unavoidably visible to any server you connect to.

This happens once when you first activate, and periodically afterwards to revalidate. Between checks the Software stores the result in a small local file on your own computer so it can keep working offline. That file stays on your machine.

Periodically the Software also fetches a public file from our website to check whether a new version exists; this request carries no license key. If you choose to download an update from inside the plugin, it sends your license key and operating system to obtain your download link.

The Software does not read your projects, scan your files, or report which DAW, presets, or settings you use.

3. Data collected when you buy

Purchases are handled by Dodo Payments, our authorised Merchant of Record, which acts as the seller of record. They collect the information needed to complete the sale and comply with tax law — typically your name, email address, billing country, and payment details.

We never see or store your full payment card details. We receive your email address and order reference so we can deliver your license key and provide support.

4. Data you send us directly

If you email us, we receive whatever you choose to include — typically your name, email address, a description of the problem, and any file you attach. If you send a report from inside the plugin, it carries your message together with your license key, the plugin version, and your operating system, so we can find your purchase without asking for your email. We use all of this only to answer you and fix the issue, and we keep it no longer than needed for that.

Newsletter. If you subscribe using the form in the footer of this site, we ask only for your email address. Our email provider, Buttondown, stores it and sends the messages on our behalf. We use double opt-in: you are not subscribed until you click the confirmation link in the email we send you, and every message carries an unsubscribe link. We use the list only for launch news and product updates, and we never sell or rent it. You can unsubscribe at any time, or ask us to delete your address, by writing to support@kaiqelectronics.com.

5. This website

This site sets no advertising or tracking cookies. It does load a few resources from third parties, which means those providers can see your IP address:

• Google Fonts — for typefaces.
• jsDelivr and the Tailwind CDN — for stylesheets and animation libraries.
• YouTube — only if you click a video. Until you do, we show a static thumbnail, so YouTube sets nothing in your browser.

6. How long we keep things

License records are kept while your license is active, and afterwards only as long as needed for accounting and tax obligations. Support emails are kept while they remain useful for resolving your issue and any follow-up. A newsletter address is kept until you unsubscribe.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR (Europe), the LGPD (Brazil), and similar laws, you may request access to the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. Write to support@kaiqelectronics.com and we will respond.

Note that deleting your license record will deactivate your license, since the two are the same record.

8. Children

The Software is a professional audio tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from them.

9. Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will update the date above. Continued use of the site or the Software after a change means you accept the revised policy.
